Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is an American pro basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She was a college basketball player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to being selected by the Wings as the 5th overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale is a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her two older brothers. The parents of her were the ones who spoilt her best because she was their youngest. Gregory's father served in the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale's family has an active familial background. Her brother Dare is a football player and her mom Yolanda played softball at DePaul. Her Aunt was a player at UAPB as was their cousin Endia Oliver is also a Volleyball player on the field at Tennessee State. Arike finished her high school education in Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, located in her home town. She also played three varsity seasons in her studies there. Ogunbowale's outstanding skills led to her team winning stunning games numerous times. She finished her high school track record of 73 career starts and has a total of 1 477 and 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale took gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. On July 7 2014 she was named for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also named to the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first time in a collegiate game.
