Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a teacher and her mom was a stay-at-home mom. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began singing and performing in the early years of her life. At the age 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked if the actress would be interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick got her first job as an actress major in 1964. She starred in an advertisement for Mattels' newest doll Baby Pattaburp. A year later she was a guest on the firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon cast in The Brady Bunch La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 200 auditioned kids, played the oldest of three double-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick revealed how during the 5th season of the show, she was close to losing her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. She was just 16. It was likely that we would have a romantic romance, she said. The timing, however, wasn't the right time.
